Check out the new STORE on Anahsa.com + Let’s partner!

Dear Beautiful Ones,

I am SO excited to tell you a few things.

First, the Anahsa store is officially open for business, and the first two items are there for you to purchase: the Map of Power and Exclusion© Self-Guided Professional Development Workbook AND a Journey to Nia® Educator Planning Sheet: Messages About Blackness in Early Childhood Environments.

Both of these items will help you along your journey of developing an informed racial and social identity consciousness, and dismantling anti-Blackness. The Workbook purchase includes a coaching session!

I’ve had the idea of creating digital and physical products for a long time, and 2026 is the year where the many ideas in my head will be brought to life. I can’t wait to share about the other items that will soon become available in the store.

Second, on Saturday, February 28th, the last day of Black History Month 2026, I’ll be leading an in-person Journey to Nia® workshop in collaboration with the Borough of Manhattan Community College’s Teaching Education Department! This is a full-circle moment for me, as I was an instructor at BMCC in the TED department when I was pregnant with Nazir (my first and stillborn son), as well as my second son. I loved teaching there, and am so honored to be facilitating a two-hour session for the community. This event is also open to the public, so please register, and join me on Saturday.

Shhh, current attendees don’t know this yet, but I will be raffling off a few copies of a gorgeous children’s book by Maryann Jacob, called Teo’s Tutu. Maryann is one of our longtime supporters, and Journey to Nia® Sponsors, and we are grateful for her partnership. Maryann’s latest children’s book is Nisha Knows Best. Have you read it yet? I can’t wait to read it!

Lastly, I wanted to let you know about some ways we can partner:

I’ve just completed an organizational assessment for a preschool, and have space to take on one new organization. If you need some clarity and insight into what’s working well, and what shifts you need to make in order for your preschool/early childhood program to go from “just functioning” to amazing, schedule some time with me to learn more about the process and some exciting outcomes you can expect.

I also have slots open for 2 coaching clients. Leadership is an isolating, and lonely experience, where we’re expected to know all the answers, and not to be afraid. That’s not the reality. Coaching with me is having a safe, supportive place to bounce your ideas, questions, and feelings off of around leadership, management, anti-racism, cultural responsiveness, and more. Schedule some time with me to learn more how we can work together. Here’s feedback from a client, after navigating a particularly intense organizational crisis:

“Thank you so much for your coaching. Just being able to think through it with you helped me so much. I appreciate you!”

As always, I am available for speaking engagments and workshops, and would love to chat with you about how I can help you, and your organization be energized, and thrive.

In parting, I want to let you know that I know how difficult the world and the United States feels these days. I can tell you that the way I am getting through is focusing on community, connection, and continuing to press forward. I am grateful to be on this journey with you, and have faith that we-the collective we- will all see better days if we keep putting in the work with, and for each other.

In collaboration,

Takiema and Team Anahsa
